Hosting and server logs
This website is hosted on GitHub Pages, provided by GitHub Inc., 88 Colin P. Kelly Jr. Street, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.
When you visit the site, your browser transmits technically necessary data to GitHub’s servers, in particular your IP address, date and time, the requested address and details of your browser and operating system. GitHub stores the IP address in server logs in order to deliver the site and to keep the service secure (e.g. to fend off attacks). We have no access to these logs and do not analyse them. GitHub determines how long the data is kept.
Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is to provide the website securely, reliably and free of charge.
Transfer to the USA: Data may be transferred to the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (Art. 45 GDPR), insofar as GitHub is certified under it, and otherwise on the Commission’s standard contractual clauses (Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR).
For more information, see GitHub’s privacy statement: docs.github.com.
Storage in your browser
Only on your device – never sent to us – the site stores your colour scheme, language and, if chosen, your German state, an unsent contact form draft (local storage) and a copy of the pages (service worker) for offline use. You can delete this data at any time in your browser settings.
Contact form
The contact form does not transmit any data to us or to third parties. It puts your entries together into a message and opens your own email program. We only receive it once you send the email from there, with the details you entered (name and email address are optional). Technical details (browser, screen size) are only attached if you tick the box.
We use your message only to handle your request and, if wished, to reply. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering requests and improving the website). The email is deleted once it has been dealt with, unless retention obligations apply.
Optionally you can report bugs, ideas and subject-matter notes publicly on GitHub. This requires a GitHub account and GitHub’s privacy statement applies; name and email address from the form are not included.
